Welcome!
Have you been following As The Metrobus Turns on Twitter and/or Facebook? Perhaps you've just heard about it and are checking it out. Maybe you're hear by accident. Whatever the case, you're in for a treat!
What is ATMT? It's a blog about random observations on the Metrobus, the transit service for the St. John's metropolitan area. Conversations overheard, behaviours observed and characters encountered. You might think this would make for a boring blog, but unless you've been on a Metrobus, you couldn't possibly understand. Unless you read these examples, of course!
"I don't even know how to shovel." "Me neither, I just jump on it til it goes down." Wow. And they're going to MUN.
Dude - "What's that, a BlackBerry?" Me - "Yup." Dude - "They're like portable laptops right?"
As The Metrobus Turns! Great Parenting 101: Mom organises the night's drinking while son, age 8ish, licks the bus window. Nutritious!
Oh she just gets classier! "Yeah I dumped him cos he used to shoot off and snore."
That does it: "I gotta get home before Shaun gets his methadone or he'll be a limpdick all night". Her son laughed.
These are all legit happenings on the bus. I wish I were joking, I really do. You can see more examples here. I'll also be including submissions from readers, observations from malls and elsewhere in the city, and maybe the odd restaurant review. And yes, they will all feature biting sarcasm and acerbic wit. Bear in mind that I can't guarantee the regularity of updates, as I could go days without hearing anything and then get 5 in a day.
